This article was dominantly based around two researchers, which go into a school, to examine and analyse how a group of teenagers use digital media to support them to enhance their learning. It also examine if what they were doing was not eroding other people using the internet’s privacy. They also looked at the impact students using social media had on the ability of teachers to freely post what they wanted. This article infers on how the young teenagers use the media to build relationships.

One social media platform that was brought to surface in this article was Periscope. Periscope has its advantages and disadvantages. First of all, it is another way for friends and family to interact live allowing them to communicate and socialise. However, periscope evades user’s privacy this is because any one can watch your scopes and see you. Also, periscope allows others users to see your current location. On periscope different can comment whatever they wish so to the year 9 students it could lead to cyber bullying.

This article also infers on another social media platform, Spottily. This article provides examples of what it could be really used for and how it enhances student’s education. This article also provides the strength and weaknesses of Spottify compared to different music apps and how it is the best one. Spottify has a fixed audience group, which practically aims at a certain group of people.   

How has the media changed your life in the last 5 years? 

The digital media has changed has in fact changed my lifestyle in many different ways which provided its advantages and disadvantages. The different ways the digital media has benefited me is it provides the facility to search and allows me to explore. It educates me, allowing me learn many different things. Also it makes more aware to the social which occur and also the digital media for surveillance. I mainly used Facebook and MSN, this allowed me to interact and communicate with friends and family, which was free and easy. However, the disadvantages it has brought to surface Is that it caused huge distraction, taking me away from work. It also was very unsafe because on platforms such as; Facebook, anyone was able to view my page, giving them access to my pictures.
